This is a hard topic to convey but I’ll give it my best crack.

Think back to when you were a young child, life seemed so simple, there weren’t many worries and you were in a state of pure, conscious awareness. At this point in your life you were living in “the garden of Eden”. You had complete freedom from your own mind and you weren’t controlled by your sub (lower level) conscious.

It is my belief that you are who you are based on the events that have happened in your life (perceivably good or bad) and that they have shaped you in to the beautiful perfect human that you are (although you can not see it within your self.) The famous story of the serpent telling Eve to eat from the “tree of Knowledge” is symbolic to the awakening of the deeper consciousness. Prior to eating the fruit Adam and Eve lived naked and unafraid, this represents living in a state of innocence and unity however once Eve shared this fruit with Adam, they gained the knowledge of good and evil. This in my opinion is the opening up of the ‘sub conscious’.

This happens between ages Five to Ten and it could come in many forms, from simply arguing back with your parents, to doing something you’re not meant to.

Once one’s consciousness knows about good and evil, one has an awareness of concepts of desires, fears, guilt and all of the other subtleties of the deeper mind, This is why Adam and Eve covered up their naked bodies and hid from god.

As soon as this Sub conscious has been developed, you begin to act out of fear, ego, lust and everything that is the opposite to deep pure alignment and love for one another. When you’re not present your mind is consumed by the future or the past.

If we take a good look at our subconscious we can see that it has been shaped by our day to day interactions our memories and how we interpret the world.

Lets look at some examples,

When one has done something that brings on a level of guilt, you consciously know, that what you did, at that time was wrong, however, you did it any way, and now ‘Karma’ is holding you to account for that action, by tormenting you through guilt.

When one has a social interaction where one falls victim to bullying ones sub conscious brings on anxiety when one enters a room of new people.

When one compares themselves with the supposedly perfect lives portrayed on social media, one is constantly imprinting within one’s self that they aren’t good enough.

Although these concepts seem simple, the complexities of our mind aren’t just that. You can have two different people go through the same trauma and have completely different experiences. Even twin siblings, this is because you’re constantly picking up information and forming an imprint in your sub conscious even when you don’t realise it consciously.

Realising all of this, proves to us that no one is perfect and that everyone is a product of their environment, however this makes forgiving people easy, because what you are doing is letting go of the suffering you are putting yourself under, by no longer acting in fear of the trauma you were put through in the past which impacts you in the present. This symbolises god forgiving you as you have forgiven others.

The best way forward as an adult is to understand these concepts, know who you are with the traumas you have attached to yourself, move forward on a self growth journey bringing yourself and others around you up with you. I don’t claim to be religious, however when you look at the bible from a more consciousness based view point you’ll see that Jesus is the exact figure of pure aligned consciousness that we should all aspire toward.

We don’t need to be perfect, and our sub conscious is not the enemy, it’s the part of our consciousness that needs to be healed. The more we heal our sub conscious the more we are tending to our garden of eden.

All of the great philosophers have been telling us this universal truth.
